Role Summary

As a Freight Screening Officer, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the security and integrity of cargo goods and services across our facilities.

Responsibilities include conducting thorough screenings of cargo using screening equipment, performing security-related tasks such as gatehouse duties, and identifying potential threats and prohibited items.

To excel in this role, you must possess a high level of attention to detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting thorough screenings of freight consignments using screening equipment
  • FOLLOWING established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with transportation security regulations and guidelines
  • Identifying and responding to potential threats, prohibited weapons, and suspicious behaviors
  • Documenting and reporting any security incidents or suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities

Skills and Qualifications

  • QLD Security Licence
  • Certificate II Transport Security Protection (Air Cargo Examination Officer)
  • AUS or relevant port, Aviation Security Identification Card
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills to identify potential threats and prohibited items
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with passengers and provide clear instructions
  • Ability to follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with security regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to respond to security incidents and emergencies
  • Excellent computer skills to operate security screening equipment and report incidents
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective security screening processes
  • Ability to successfully pass Drug & Alcohol testing
