Job Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health Coordinator to deliver public and environmental health services.
Main Responsibilities
- To provide an efficient and effective service relating to food premises, legionella control, commercial and public owned swimming pools, skin penetration and onsite sewage management.
- Manage and investigate complaints on health-related issues including food-borne illness outbreaks and undertake regulatory action as required by legislation.
- Conduct detailed assessments of development applications relevant to environmental health requirements.
- Provide expert advice and information to the community, stakeholders and colleagues to raise awareness of community safety matters and inform them of relevant legislative and policy requirements and changes.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership of the Australian Institute of Environmental Health.
They will also have considerable experience as an Environmental Health Officer or similar position, with extensive technical skills and expertise in interpreting relevant Local Government, Public Health and Environmental Legislation.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week with access to flexible work arrangements.
