Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Health Specialist, you will play a key role in protecting and promoting environmental health standards within the community.

You will be responsible for conducting inspections of food premises, skin penetration premises, hairdressers, cooling towers, swimming and spa pools, and other facilities to ensure compliance with health and environmental standards.

In addition, you will investigate environmental pollution incidents and complaints, assess air, noise, contaminated land, and wastewater reports, and work with stakeholders to resolve environmental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of food premises, skin penetration premises, hairdressers, cooling towers, swimming and spa pools, and other facilities
  • Investigate environmental pollution incidents and complaints
  • Assess air, noise, contaminated land, and wastewater reports
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve environmental health issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Natural Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualification
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation associated with environmental health
  • Experience in investigation, monitoring, and inspection of premises
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
