
Field Maintenance Specialist

Job Description:- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on communications equipment, antennas, and associated cabling/feeder systems to the Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU), alongside configuration and troubleshooting of related software across multiple platforms.
- As part of a team, perform maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of communication systems.
- Assist engineering teams in setting up platforms, providing technical support, and ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on technical activities to develop solutions and assist in resolving requests.
- Translate complex technical information into clear documentation to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Ensure strict adherence to work practices and WHS procedures, with specific responsibility for ESD prevention, electronic equipment handling, and safe working at heights.
- Participate in and support the assembly, installation, test, and commissioning of systems and products.
- Certificate IV in Electrotechnology and Communications or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience with communication system repair and maintenance is highly desirable, including HF, VHF, UHF Radio Systems, SATCOM Systems, Secure Voice and Cryptographic Systems, IT Infrastructure, and software application management.
- Experience working within Defence or onboard Maritime Platforms is highly desirable.
- Eligibility to obtain Australian Citizenship, an Australian Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1, and access to export-controlled technology, data, and information.
- Current, unrestricted Australian driver's license and ability to support occasional work outside standard working hours.
