Job Description

Deliver Results in a Dynamic Infrastructure Environment

We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead and manage local subcontractors, traffic management suppliers, and stakeholders. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing traffic switches, road access, and stakeholder access arrangements.

Your expertise will ensure the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects, while maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to regulatory requirements. You will also provide technical leadership to site teams and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage local subcontractors and traffic management suppliers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement traffic switches, road access, and stakeholder access arrangements.
  • Develop and implement traffic management plans in accordance with VicRoads / DoT Victoria standards from concept through to completion.
  • Communicate with DoT Victoria, VicRoads, councils, and stakeholders to deploy project traffic changes.
  • Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, and milestone reports, including cost management, progress analysis, and recommendations.
  • Provide technical leadership to site teams and mentor junior engineers.
  • Manage procurement, resources, and budgets within the traffic management scope.
  • Ensure quality management, documentation, and compliance with Victorian traffic standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Senior-level traffic management experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Victorian traffic management standards and VicRoads / DoT Victoria protocols.
  • Extensive experience with major infrastructure projects, preferably rail or transportation.
  • Proven leadership abilities and stakeholder management across all levels.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities in dynamic construction environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and executive briefings.
  • Minimum 7+ years' onsite infrastructure experience with demonstrated progression.
