About This Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating a Tactical Instructor Station (TIS) supporting live training missions and participating in simulator training exercises.

This role is based at HMAS Albatross in Nowra, supporting the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyse the daily flight program to plan and prepare the training simulator based on pre-programmed events and ad-hoc training requirements.
  2. Load initial conditions and parameters within a training scenario, such as weather, aircraft loadout, and role-playing units to ensure the scenario is prepared prior to the start of the scheduled mission.
  3. Evaluate discrepancies and/or malfunctions determined during training and provide detailed documentation to CAE's maintenance team.
  4. Simulate synthetic environments and manipulate units while operating in live support alongside aircrew instructors.
  5. Collaborate with the maintenance team to troubleshoot issues by applying on-the-job experience and expertise gained during the support of the customer.
  6. Perform ancillary duties in support of overall program requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong basic computer skills focused on managing and manipulating software applications under the direction of an aircrew instructor.
  • Knowledge of RAN maritime and air operations, capabilities, and tactical relationships.
  • Practical understanding of MH-60R sensor suites is highly desirable.

Security Clearance

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
