Behaviour Support Practitioner Role Overview

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team, providing quality support services to individuals with complex needs. As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively to develop and implement person-centred plans, ensuring the goals, passions, and strengths of each participant are reflected.

  • You will assist participants and their families/carers in identifying needs through assessment and person-centred planning, working closely together to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans in complex support environments, utilising your expertise to make a positive impact.
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies using a positive behaviour support framework, aiming to eliminate restrictive practices and promote individualised support.

This role requires a strong professional with excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload effectively. You will be working in our local community, making a difference in the lives of our participants on a daily basis.

  • You may find yourself working in daycare centres, schools, homes, or on day trips to nearby areas, engaging with participants and their families to build trust and understanding.
  • Our team also hosts regular Wellness Walks along scenic coastal paths, providing opportunities for socialisation and relaxation.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core or Proficient level.
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising other Behaviour Support Practitioners, developing their skills and knowledge to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with participants, families, and colleagues.

We offer flexible work arrangements, competitive remuneration, and opportunities for career growth and professional development, helping you to reach your full potential and make a lasting impact.
