Job Opportunity: Empowering Aboriginal Youth

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to provide mentoring and support services to Aboriginal Youth.

  • Mentorship and Support Services:

Our organization is committed to empowering young people through life-changing programs. As an Youth Mentor, you will play a vital role in facilitating group activities addressing cultural issues, implementing practical information and strategies to assist students to thrive.

  • Cultural Facilitation:

You will identify and support young people's cultural needs and goals, delivering individual and/or group sessions in resilience building, relationships, and emotional regulation skills.

  • Skills Development:

Additionally, you will ensure mandatory reporting in-line with legislative requirements, collaborating with schools, local services, and statewide initiatives to support young people.

  • Collaboration and Reporting:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has prior experience working with young people in social work, education, mediation, or conflict resolution capacities.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

You must hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Criminal History check (issued within the last 6 months). A qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Education, Community Development, or a related discipline is also essential.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and proven ability to engage with young people through group activities.
