About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Android QA Engineer to join our team at Oracle. As a member of our global team, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Android applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and execute test cases on different devices and platforms to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Carry out technical assessments on requested features and identify the scope of work/dependencies for test requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance in identifying automation targets and designing white box test scenarios, participate in design reviews, and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging code to find the root cause of issues and provide detailed information to the development team.
  • Conduct advanced static and dynamic code analysis to identify potential performance bottlenecks.
  • Lead performance benchmark testing initiatives for mobile applications to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in creating and executing test plans.
  • Prepare time estimates of all QA options and other project requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and incorporate them into the team's software test operational processes.
  • Promote established processes across the team and seek opportunities to streamline and improve them.
  • Mentor junior QA staff in advanced testing techniques and coding practices.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with the Android platform and knowledge of Kotlin language.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in software test engineering, including both white-box and black-box test methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance concepts, best practices, and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of any scripting language, preferably Python.
  • Expertise in Software Test Automation Framework.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in Kotlin, with a proven track record of testing Android applications leveraging performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Expert in performance metrics and identifying / implementing optimizations for mobile applications.
  • Analyze and identify code for efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Proficient with code versioning tools, particularly git.
  • Experience working with defect tracking tools such as JIRA is required.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with global stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in testing/validating SDK will be a big plus.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies will be a plus.
