Android QA Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Android QA Engineer to join our team at Oracle. As an Android QA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test cases on different devices and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement test cases for Android applications
  • Carry out technical assessments on requested features and identify the scope of work/dependencies for test requirements
  • Provide technical guidance in identifying automation targets and designing white box test scenarios
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging code to find the root cause of issues
  • Conduct advanced static and dynamic code analysis to identify potential performance bottlenecks
  • Lead performance benchmark testing initiatives for mobile applications
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders in creating and executing test plans
  • Prepare time estimates of all QA options and other project requirements
  • Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies and incorporate them into the team's software test operational processes

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the Android platform and understanding of Kotlin language
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in software test engineering including both white-box and black-box test methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Software Quality Assurance concepts, best practices, and procedures
  • Good knowledge of any scripting language preferably Python
  • Expertise in Software Test Automation Framework

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in Kotlin, with a proven track record of testing Android applications leveraging performance, scalability, and user experience
  • Expert in performance metrics and identifying / implementing optimizations for mobile applications
  • Analyze and identify code for efficiency, reliability, and performance
  • Proficient with code versioning tools, particularly git
  • Experience working with defect tracking tools such as JIRA is required
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with global stakeholders
  • Prior experience in testing/validating SDK will be a big plus
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies will be a plus
