Cardiothoracic Anaesthetics and Perfusion Specialist

Care for patients undergoing complex cardiothoracic surgeries as a skilled anaesthetics and perfusion specialist. Deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment, working closely with the surgical team to ensure seamless procedures.

This is an opportunity to leverage your advanced clinical skills in cardiothoracic anaesthetics and perfusion, providing expert care and guidance to nurses and other healthcare professionals.

As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care during cardiothoracic surgeries
  • Mentoring and guiding junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Contributing to service improvements and education initiatives to elevate patient care standards
  • Participating in on-call rotations to support the team in emergency situations

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate healthcare professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, possesses excellent communication skills, and thrives in a dynamic team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current nursing registration and full Australian working rights
  • At least 3 years' recent experience in anaesthetics and perfusion, preferably in cardiothoracic care
  • Confident and proficient use of heart-lung bypass machines and cell-saving equipment, with ECMO experience or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in complex situations
