Senior Infection Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our infection control program.

About the Role:

  • The Senior Infection Control Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring work practice standards and policies.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in infection prevention and control, with experience in staff education, outbreak planning, and surveillance.
  • This is a key role that contributes to overseeing and influencing frameworks of continuous quality improvement.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive infection prevention and control systems.
  • Lead quality and safety improvement initiatives, reviewing policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant state and/or federal guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration – Registered Nurse.
  • Relevant Clinical/infection prevention and control experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • ACIPC credentialing.
  • Post Graduate certificate or diploma in infection control.
  • Accredited Nurse Immuniser.
  • Accredited HIV, HBV & HCV pre and post-test counsellor.
