About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our Molecular Pathology team at Bowen Hills, QLD. As a key member of our evening team, you will be responsible for performing specimen log-in, retrieval, processing, and filing, as well as conducting DNA/RNA extraction and handling phone enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing specimen log-in, retrieval, processing, and filing
  • Conducting DNA/RNA extraction (manual and automated)
  • Handling phone enquiries and reagent preparation
  • Operating specimen handling instruments
  • Performing other general laboratory duties as assigned by the Lab Assistant Supervisor or Laboratory Management

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and work methodically and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be an effective team member and have a positive influence on other staff
  • Sound knowledge of computers and software

A high level of commitment to laboratory turnaround times, customer service, accuracy of processing, and laboratory goals is required.
