Role Overview

Director Strategy, Economics, Insights and Reporting

Set the direction for AFSA by leading strategy development and delivering enterprise reporting.

This pivotal role will connect data, planning and delivery activities into a unified narrative to support CEO, Executive and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate long-range enterprise strategies and planning frameworks.
  • Deliver high-quality internal and external reporting.
  • Provide system-level advice on complex data and policy signals.
  • Offer authoritative guidance on economic trends and strategic directions.
  • Develop insights to inform strategic messaging and support communication of AFSA's vision and outcomes.
  • Establish and improve enterprise performance measurement and evaluation frameworks.
  • Provide strategic foresight through scenario modelling and risk-informed planning.
  • Steward AFSA's insight ecosystem and reduce duplication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and the academic community to publish research.
  • Represent AFSA in external forums and participate in relevant communities of practice.

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate qualifications in economics, strategy, data science or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in public sector strategy and performance reporting.
  • High-level critical thinking and policy modelling capabilities.
  • Strong track record in senior stakeholder engagement and executive advising.
  • Demonstrated established credibility in both domestic and international forums.
  • Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
