Civil Justice Leader

This is a rare chance to lead complex civil law matters in Melbourne's growing West.
Key Responsibilities:- Advocate for clients in mental health, disability, tenancy, social security, NDIS and fines cases.
- Represent clients in the Mental Health Tribunal, VCAT and other courts or tribunals as needed.
- Develop and mentor junior lawyers to enhance their skills and expertise.
- Collaborate with health, social and legal services to address the intersecting needs of vulnerable clients.
- Contribute to law reform, policy advocacy and community education to drive systemic change.
We provide vital legal representation to those who need it most. With a significant presence in Victoria, we help people navigate their legal problems through information, advice and education focused on prevention and early resolution.
Requirements- A Senior Civil Justice Lawyer with extensive experience in civil law advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Specialized knowledge in areas impacting fundamental rights, including VCAT and Mental Health Tribunal work.
- Understanding of the complex barriers faced by disadvantaged communities and ability to work respectfully across cultures, including with First Nations clients.
- Motivation by impact – driving not just case outcomes, but service development, system change and lasting effects.
