This is a unique opportunity to lead and deliver ecological assessments, environmental approvals, and conservation planning projects in Victoria.

">">About the Role

As an experienced Senior Botanist or Ecologist, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects, delivering high-quality reports on time and within budget, and providing expert advice on a range of projects in Victoria.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead delivery of ecological survey programs and impact assessment tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, including ecological impact assessment, vegetation mapping, and offsets advice and strategy.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Provide expert advice on Victorian and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with client and regulator needs.
  • Prepare project proposals and tender submissions.
  • Assist in the preparation of expert evidence and presenting evidence as required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, industry bodies and researchers.

You Will Need

  • Tertiary qualifications in botany, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ecological consulting or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Australian ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and Victorian policy framework.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A current and valid driver's licence.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Knowledge and experience working in NSW and with NSW legislation.
  • Accreditation or experience undertaking audit programs.
