Executive Chef & Kitchen Manager

The role of Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager involves planning menus, estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies.

  • Quality control and tasting dishes to ensure they meet the required standard and presentation.
  • Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen staff.
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
  • Preparing, presenting, and cooking food in Nepali and Indian cuisine.
  • Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.
  • Selecting and training staff.
  • Managing freezing and preservation of food.
  • Creating a vision for the cuisine, inspiring team members, and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Recruiting, motivating, and managing staff.
  • Overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, ordering supplies, and undertaking inventory management.
  • Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tasting dishes to ensure quality.
  • Discussing food preparation issues with managers.
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
  • Preparing, presenting, and cooking food in Nepali and Indian cuisine.
  • Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations.
  • Selecting and training staff.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year relevant work experience.
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management.
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and OH&S Standards.
  • Ability to work closely with management.
