About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Booking Coordinator to join our Transcultural and Language Services (TALS) team. This pivotal role involves efficiently coordinating interpreting services at our health organization.

The primary responsibilities of this position include allocating in-house and external resources, scheduling interpreters' shifts, timely communication of interpreter attendance, and following up on interpreting agency bookings. A strong focus on customer service is essential, as the Booking Coordinator will handle TALS phone calls and email enquiries, providing prompt assistance and delivering operational support.

  • Allocate in-house and external resources in line with organizational procedures.
  • Schedule interpreters' shifts to ensure efficient delivery of language services.
  • Communicate interpreter attendance to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Follow up on interpreting agency bookings to ensure smooth delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with the medical language services profession.
  • An understanding of the role of the interpreter in a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) patient healthcare encounter.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of healthcare procedures and processes.
