Job Overview
As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef plays a vital role in ensuring exceptional food services for residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing recipes and designing menus that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs. They will assist cooks/chefs in cooking meals under their supervision, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive kitchen strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with chefs to create innovative menu ideas that showcase seasonal ingredients and cuisines.
- Manage food costs by overseeing inventory levels, negotiating supplier contracts, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by presenting and serving food with precision and flair.
Key Qualifications and Skills Include:
Essential Requirements:
- Cert III in Kitchen Operations or equivalent experience;
- Food Handlers Certificate (desirable);
- CPR/First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain);
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Understanding of food handling and hygiene principles;
- Technical cooking skills with modern approach.
