As a dynamic and passionate individual, we are seeking someone to join our team as an Outdoor Activities Trainee. This exciting role will provide the opportunity to develop skills in outdoor leadership, while creating safe, enjoyable, and educational experiences for youth.

As part of our team, you will have the chance to work with school groups during the term and week-long camps for 10-17 year olds in the school holidays.

The successful applicant will be responsible for facilitating and managing various outdoor activities, including High Ropes, Climbing Tower/Abseiling, Crate Climb, Canoeing, Archery, Giant Swing, Bush Skills, Challenge Course, Pool Games, and Orienteering. They will be required to regularly complete in-house training to become competent in these activities and work towards obtaining their external qualification of a Certificate III/IV in Outdoor Leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for participants
  • Leading and instructing outdoor activities within our program, including preparation, facilitation, and maintenance of equipment
  • Attending relevant training events for specified activities
  • Demonstrating Christian principles and values throughout the program
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
  • Possessing a positive attitude and work ethic, with a desire to serve others

Requirements:

  • A valid Working with Children Check ID number for paid work
  • National Police Check (necessary upon employment approval)
  • Christian faith aligned with our organisational values (preferred)
  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid (preferred)
  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (preferred)
  • Current Drivers' License (preferred)
