About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team at Santos Ltd in Brisbane. As a key member of our GLNG Reliability Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our instrumentation, controls and electrical (IC&E) equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for IC&E equipment, including risk assessment and closure of identified risks.
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance strategy optimisation and provide technical review/endorsement of changes to Reliability Management Plans (RMPs) related to IC&E equipment.
  • Participate in and support failure investigations, root cause analyses, technical audits and compliance assessments for IC&E equipment issues.
  • Lead discipline engineering excellence, governance and assurance of safety barrier/performance standards effectiveness, ensuring cybersecurity compliance is always met.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Standards and Codes.
  • Actively mentor graduate and junior engineers.
About You

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering, as well as be eligible for RPEQ (e.g., Chartered Engineer). You will also have extensive experience in instrumentation, controls and electrical engineering in an operations support role in oil and gas, petrochemical or similar industry, with major hazard facility (MHF) experience preferred.

You will have a thorough understanding of the relevant technical standards and regulatory framework relating to the Oil and Gas Industry, as well as skilled knowledge in integrated control and safety systems, operational technology cyber security, design verification of process instrumentation, actuated and control valves, and electrical power generation and distribution engineering.

Competencies in CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) preferably SAP, Hazardous Area/EEHA, Functional Safety, SIL, LOPA, Bowties, and certification in Function Safety Engineer and Hazardous Area will be highly regarded.
