Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support in the community, homes, supported accommodation, and residential care facilities.
  • Implement lifestyle plans to improve the quality of life for clients through learning and independence.
  • Perform household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and other daily living activities.
  • Display an energetic and creative approach in supporting clients in their homes and communities.
  • Effectively manage challenging behaviors with positive behavior support plans.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and fun environment.
  • Provide daily care, including bathing, toileting, dressing, and food preparation.
  • Communicate with management and key-carers to achieve desired goals.
  • Document client progress and important information with case notes.
  • Report incidents, behaviors, and seizures as necessary.
  • Foster skill development through activities such as shopping, cooking, and using public transportation.
  • Transport clients to appointments and shopping.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Approach support with a goal-focused attitude and look for opportunities for success.

Requirements:

  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • An Australian driver's license and a reliable and registered vehicle
  • An ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card or equivalent
  • A National Criminal History Check (Police Check)
  • An NDIS Workers Orientation Module
