About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Officer to join our team at BAE Systems Australia. As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to the delivery of quality activities designed to provide assurance to management that quality practices are being effectively deployed across the project and line of business.
  • Interpret and provide advice within the management and quality assurance function based on legislation, policy, and procedures.
  • Maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
  • Support understanding and awareness of quality tools and techniques across the business area.
  • Regular liaison with the Customer and Partner Company Quality representatives to provide required assurance.
  • Support the monitoring and completion of corrective, preventive, and/or improvement actions by the business area.
  • Coordinate the completion of Preliminary Material Review (PMR) and Material Review Board (MRB) ensuring all records are retained.

About You

  • Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Quality Technician role (preferred).
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical/electronic manufacturing and a sound knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications (preferred).
  • Sound understanding of Quality practices and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity of ISO9001, Defence, and Civil Technical Regulatory.
  • Formal training in quality or equivalent experience in Quality related subjects (desired).
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word and Excel.
