Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Communication Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in achieving our department's portfolio outcomes.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for assisting in a range of communication and engagement services, including strategic communication advice, media services, change management, campaigns, and content production.

Your work will directly contribute to the successful implementation of key initiatives. By creating effective communication strategies, you will help the team understand the benefits of reforms and guide them through necessary changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and delivering communication strategies and products.
  • Craft engaging content for various communication channels such as web, social media, digital platforms, and media outlets.
  • Produce ministerial media products, including media releases, talking points, and speeches.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail while managing multiple projects.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in media and/or strategic communications is essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building productive relationships.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
  • Quick adaptability to new IT systems.
