Job Summary:

This is a high-impact role for a Data Engineer to contribute to a large-scale digital transformation program within the public sector.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in designing and implementing data pipelines, architectures, and analytics solutions using cutting-edge Azure & Microsoft technologies.

About the Role:

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines using Azure Synapse, data lakes, and PySpark
  • Optimize SQL queries for performance tuning and database management
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement data management improvements
  • Mentor and support team members on data engineering tools and best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering within Azure environments
  • Strong expertise in Azure Synapse, data lakes, SQL-based tools (SSIS, SSRS), and PySpark
  • Experience in data pipeline development, ETL processes, and cloud-based data management
  • Advanced SQL skills with a focus on query optimization and database integration
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
  • Exposure to machine learning and statistical models for advanced analytics
  • Familiarity with Data Modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical)
