Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and versatile Trade Assistant to join our marine workshop team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in maintaining our dredge, support craft fleet, and other mechanical equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with workshop, site, and vessel general maintenance, including operating 20t Franna, forklifts, light and medium rigid trucks.
As a Marine Equipment Maintenance Assistant, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment, working closely with our experienced team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs of marine equipment, including engines, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as 20t Franna and forklifts, safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily checks and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete tasks, share knowledge, and promote a positive work environment.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development to enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Trade qualification or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., mechanical, civil construction, mining).
- Valid Medium Rigid truck license and non-slewing crane ticket (or willingness to obtain this ticket).
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and familiarity with safe equipment usage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
