About the Role

The Australian Psychological Society Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Psychologist to join our team as a College Psychologist - Educational Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students, parents, and staff to provide wellbeing support and expertise in line with the educational mission of the College.

Key Responsibilities

  • Counselling and Support
    • Provide individual and group counselling to students, parents, and staff experiencing personal, relational, social, educational, or professional difficulties.
    • Develop and implement strategies to promote student wellbeing and academic success.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services
    • Conduct diagnostic assessments and provide therapeutic interventions to students, parents, and staff.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans to address student needs.
  • Psychological Testing and Assessment
    • Administer and interpret psychological, behavioural, and intelligence tests to assess student abilities and needs.
    • Develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Staff and Community Development
    • Develop and implement in-service and outreach programs to enhance staff and community wellbeing.
    • Collaborate with staff and community members to develop and implement strategies to promote student wellbeing.
  • Network and Collaboration
    • Network with government, community, and church social welfare, health, youth, correctional, and educational agencies to access resources and support.
    • Collaborate with staff and community members to develop and implement strategies to promote student wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology.
    • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience
    • Experience working in school settings or with students, parents, and staff.
    • Experience administering psychological, behavioural, and intelligence tests.
  • Skills
    • High level competency in counselling skills, particularly working with young people.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
