Job Summary:

The Energy Optimization Specialist will develop and implement a comprehensive energy strategy framework for the continuous improvement of energy supply and consumption.

This role is responsible for managing energy-related initiatives, including contract management, efficiency projects, and asset optimization to reduce costs and improve sustainability performance.

The Energy Optimization Specialist will collaborate with internal and external groups to deliver superior outcomes that align with industry best practices while engaging multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic energy plan entailing procurement, billing management, and energy reduction programs to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2030
  • Lead ownership of energy management transition and consolidate practices across various business units
  • Manage relationships with key energy providers and consultants
  • Work with consultants and procurement teams to identify and deliver commercial arrangements for energy management
  • Support procurement and external partners in developing and executing tenders and/or contract negotiations
  • Establish an improved data recording and analysis system to track energy consumption
  • Manage energy billing validation contracts to identify anomalies and ensure accurate billing processing
  • Interpret data and translate it into initiatives that drive continuous improvement
  • Manage communication across project stakeholders, including site teams, senior management, and business units
  • Achieve agreed financial targets and manage budgets effectively
  • Initiate activities to improve monitoring and process control to reduce energy consumption and deploy strategies to minimize impacts on operations
  • Manage purchasing and payment processes for equipment and services, including raising purchase orders, managing schedules, and processing invoice payments
  • Develop and implement roll-out plans to optimize resources, maintain project budgets, maximize value creation, and minimize impacts to site operations
  • Manage handover processes on completion of projects, along with site quality audits post retrofit works
  • Ensure project records are kept up-to-date with program, budget, and completion details, along with associated progress reporting
  • Collect and maintain pre- and post-implementation data for energy abatement/efficiency schemes
