Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with substance use issues, including intake assessment and treatment services, and case management.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and consumer groups to develop clinical practice standards and evaluate their outcomes.
- Contribute to quality health care by promoting a service that fosters clinical excellence, research, and professional leadership.
- Develop and implement strategies to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty.
- Effectively communicate and engage with patients, consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Participate in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement initiatives in the workplace.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife/Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- At least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time experience in the specialty field.
- Approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organization.
- Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe, compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidence-based midwifery care.
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement in the workplace.
