This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Maintain and manage the reconciliation and analysis of data in financial systems from front office system to back office system to ensure financial records are accurate as per procedure guidelines
  • Accurate and timely compliance reporting including BAS, FBT, Levies and Annual Accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of Special Purpose and General Purpose financial statements in accordance with Corporations Law and relevant Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) for external auditors sign-offs.
  • Preparation of work papers supporting financial disclosures
  • Ensuring Group Reporting is published by due dates
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of the annual budget, annual reforecast and 5 year business plan for the company
  • Managing a small team of staff in achieving team objectives
Requirements:

A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is essential. Additionally, the following skills and experience are highly desirable:

  • 5-10 years of experience working in a finance team preferably within the commodities/agribusiness sector
  • Deep knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and Australian tax legislation
  • Understanding of accounting principles for processing and warehousing assets, derivative products (futures, forwards and options)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • JDE experience is an advantage
  • Ability to interpret and analyse qualitative and quantitative information
