After Hours Nursing Lead

The ideal candidate will possess 8+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse and recent After Hours Coordinator or Nurse Unit Manager experience, with critical care experience being an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe and Quality Care: Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
- Liaison and Support: Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) and Team Leaders of wards and departments
- Staffing and Efficiency: Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and are cost efficient
- Patient Flow: Coordinate patient flow- patient admissions, liaise with VMO's, emergency dept, paramedics
- Safety Oversight: Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff
- Crisis Leadership: Taking lead in emergency codes/situations
Requirements:
- Nursing Qualifications: Registered Nurse with 8+ years' experience and current AHPRA Registration
- Leadership Experience: Recent After Hours Coordinator or Nurse Unit Manager experience, critical care experience an advantage
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- People Leadership: People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
- Staff Coordination: Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
- Awareness of Health Safety: Awareness of Health Safety and Wellbeing processes
- Critical Thinking: Strong skills in critical thinking and problem solving
- Fast Paced Environment: Thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
- Patient Centred Care: Be patient centred, a patient advocate and focused on delivery of quality care
- Innovative Approach: Be proactive and innovative and across the National Standards for Quality and Safety in Health Care
- Computer Literacy: High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
- Post Graduate Qualification: Post graduate qualification in Leadership and Management (or willingness to complete)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements: Knowledge of relevant Enterprise Agreements
- ALS Training: ALS trained with current certificate (or willingness to complete)
- System Experience: Experience with computer based programs Dimensions (staff time keeping system) and RiskMan (Incident management system)
