About the Role

You will join a highly skilled team of Database Administrators providing support and maintenance for a large enterprise environment spanning multiple locations within Australia and overseas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of PostgreSQL Databases.

This role requires:

  • Installation, creation, configuration, upgrade, and monitoring of databases to ensure optimum performance
  • Evaluation, recommendation, management, and execution of upgrades and enhancements as required
  • Support to application teams for incidents relating to PostgreSQL Databases
  • Implementation of monitoring and health reports to reduce and eliminate issues affecting end users
  • Process-driven approach and ownership of issues through to resolution
  • Contribution to the creation and maintenance of technical system documentation
  • Adherence to processes, procedures, and security requirements

Requirements

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a proactive approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues, and develop relationships to achieve company objectives.

You will have:

  • Relevant experience working with PostgreSQL Databases in a complex environment
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL administration and management tools like pgAdmin and Pgpool
  • Experience building and administering PostgreSQL Cluster using repmgr
  • Proven experience administering, configuring, and managing large database environments
  • Experience in Service Management, Operations, and Disaster Recovery
  • Experience managing backup and restoration processes
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with other teams
