PostgreSQL Database Engineer for Defence Digital Modernisation

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Engineer to join our team in Defence Digital Modernisation.
As a Database Administrator for a large enterprise environment, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Install, create, configure, upgrade, and monitor databases to ensure optimum performance.
- Evaluate, recommend, manage, and execute upgrades and enhancements as required.
- Provide support to application teams for incidents relating to PostgreSQL databases.
- Implement monitoring and health reports to help reduce and eliminate issues affecting end-users.
- Be process-driven and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical system documentation.
- Work within an ITIL framework for all work-related activities.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with PostgreSQL databases in a complex environment.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL administration and management tools like pgAdmin and Pgpool.
- Experience building and administrating PostgreSQL Cluster using repmgr.
- Proven experience administering, configuring, and managing large database environments.
- Experience in Service Management, Operations, and Disaster Recovery.
- Experience managing backup and restoration processes.
