About the Role

Peter Mac is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Molecular Pathology Laboratory team. As a key member of our laboratory operations support team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of molecular services to our patients and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including sample management, assets/equipment, and laboratory supplies
  • Coordinate pipette calibration and servicing
  • Assist with stock and asset audits
  • Coordinate laboratory activities with lab users, building partners, and external service teams
  • Perform general laboratory duties, including waste management and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
Requirements
  • Diploma in Laboratory Technology
  • Professional approach to patient pathology service confidentiality
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrable skills in communication
  • Demonstrable experience in MS Office products and Internet
Desirable Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience with stock and/or asset management
  • Demonstrable experience with laboratory quality systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality best practices
  • Demonstrable understanding of pathology and medical terminology
  • Prior experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory
  • Prior experience working in a PC2 laboratory
  • Prior experience with pathology LIMS
