Aboriginal Women's Support Specialist

The role of Cultural Wellbeing Practitioner plays a vital part in the delivery of therapeutic, cultural and Social and Emotional Wellbeing programs for Aboriginal women and trans and gender diverse individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate case management, advocacy and support to eligible Aboriginal women;
- Engage in secondary consultations and collaborate with Corrections Victoria staff and professionals across the sector to ensure positive outcomes;
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal women.
- Minimum degree level qualification in Social Work or related field;
- At least three years' experience in managing programs;
- Highly developed cultural safety and competency skills;
- Passion for supporting Aboriginal women's social and emotional wellbeing;
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history and self-determination applied in a contemporary context.
The successful candidate will need:
- Current Working with Children's Check;
- Current Victorian Police Check;
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for workers;
- Commitment to inclusivity and protection of children's rights.
This is a full-time opportunity that requires a SCHADS Level 5 classification.
