EHS/SMS Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHS/SMS Manager to join our team at Standard Aero. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of our health and safety culture, providing periodic reports on safety performance, and managing the safety reporting scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification to ensure the site remains compliant and risks are identified and managed.
  • Lead EHS audits, including preparation, resolution of non-compliance, and review of observations.
  • Assist the leadership team in implementing key safety initiatives and ensuring key members are supported to implement initiatives.
  • Take ownership of site security issues, including employee security, site security, and management of security events.
  • Represent the site on matters relating to EH&S/SMS/Security.

Requirements

  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management/Environmental or closely related field.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Intermediate knowledge of relevant systems, including MS suite, and electronic safety systems.
  • High-level understanding and implementation of safety plans, with the ability to review and implement changes in response to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with little direction, with the ability to set own schedule and adapt to changing needs.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to walk to various areas throughout the facility throughout the day.
  • Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) on a regular basis, steel toe safety shoes.
  • Must be willing to work shift work, occasional overtime, weekend, and holiday on-call when required.
