Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients across Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Oncology departments, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient safety.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures, treatments, and surgeries, ensuring clear communication with both the veterinary team and pet owners.
- Manage patient admissions, monitoring, and discharge processes, ensuring accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, specialists, and other nursing staff to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary care.
- Educate and support pet owners by providing them with information on their pets' conditions, treatment options, and care requirements.
- Teach and mentor veterinary students: Actively engage in the training and development of DVM students during their rotations, sharing knowledge and fostering their practical skills.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting the training and development of junior staff.
- Qualification: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a referral or specialist veterinary practice, with experience in Neurology, Internal Medicine, or Oncology preferred.
- Skills: Strong technical nursing skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, anaesthesia monitoring, and patient care.
- Passion for Teaching: A genuine interest in educating and mentoring veterinary students, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and supportive manner.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinarians, specialists, clients, and other team members.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt and work efficiently across different departments in a fast-paced environment.
