Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our expanding legal team as an In-House Legal Counsel. This is a true in-house generalist role, covering a wide range of legal and commercial issues related to J & P Richardson's operations and those of our related entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Reviewing and negotiating contracts, particularly for tender submissions, and working closely with key operational teams.
  • Legal Support: Providing legal support to internal stakeholders, including contract management advice and support during construction/installation phases.
  • Correspondence: Preparing, reviewing, and amending correspondence.
  • Policy Review: Assisting with policy review, including employment, insurance, industrial relations, corporate, safety, and compliance matters.
  • Employment Law: Drafting employment contracts, conducting investigations, and preparing follow-up reports, as well as providing advice on disciplinary matters.
  • Industrial Relations: Interpreting and providing advice on Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), assisting with EBA negotiations, and providing guidance on industrial relations matters.
  • Corporate Governance: Assisting with company secretarial duties and associated tasks.
  • Safety and Compliance: Interpreting legislation, providing advice, and supporting the safety team from a legal perspective.
Requirements
  • Admission to Practice: Admitted to practice law in Australia, with a Bachelor of Laws from an Australian University.
  • Experience: Law firm or in-house experience, preferably in the commercial, employment, or construction space.
  • Skills: Proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to service, and ability to build good relationships within the business.
  • Desirable: Keen desire to learn about the business, the VINCI Energies Group, the industry, and the way we do our work.
