Senior Business Analyst Asset

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with your immediate scrum team, as well as the broader project team, stakeholders, product owners, Business Services, and SMEs.

You will be responsible for identifying and managing risk according to delivery framework, policies, and project governance, and reporting to the Scrum Master or Delivery Lead.

You will lead and own business analysis activities and provide specialist support for projects. You will gather information, document, and analyze business needs to produce quality requirements.

You will identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes and liaise with stakeholders to elicit information from business and IT to help develop solutions that enable our customers to achieve their goals.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Elicitation of business requirements to decompose features reflecting benefits, dependencies, risks, and priorities
  • Effective communication of requirements to stakeholders, managing conflicts, issues, and changes to ensure stakeholders and project team members remain in agreement on solution scope
  • Ensuring business needs are properly modeled, analyzed, and reflected, and any impacts to benefit are captured
  • Documenting the current and future states to identify and recommend improvements, verification, and validation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business needs and translate these into requirements
  • Breaking down business requirements into epics, features, and stories, writing, validating, and estimating user stories, mapping current and future business processes
  • Facilitating workshops and training sessions at any stage of a project
  • Effectively managing relationships with project stakeholders and assisting the Sponsors and Product Owners with articulating their requirements and the value they are after
  • Being a leader in the business analysts Community of Practice and influencing your peers to achieve better outcomes and become a thought leader for continuous improvement
  • Ensuring non-functional requirements are achievable and subsequently met
  • Working with data analytics and helping to mine and understand large amounts of data

Experience:

  • Minimum five years of business analysis or process improvement experience
  • Experience in mentoring team members within the BA practice
  • Experience in working across multiple streams in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated leadership in the implementation of Agile/Scrum methods and techniques
  • Experience engaging stakeholders at all levels and able to communicate ideas and vision effectively and with impact
  • Experience in Financial Services is highly desirable - ideally Asset and Wealth Domain
  • Experience using tools such as JIRA/Confluence
  • Tertiary qualifications highly desirable
  • CBAP Certification - Business Analysis or Agile qualifications are a plus
