As a Cadet Digital Content Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our communication goals. You will craft compelling videography, photography, and digital content to showcase our services, initiatives, and projects, sharing our stories and achievements with the community.

This is an ideal position for a student in their penultimate year of study in Communications, Social Media, Photography, or a related field, seeking a great start in local government. You will develop your skills under the guidance of experienced communications professionals while monitoring social media, responding to inquiries, and managing urgent issues. You will also create and edit content for various platforms, support the Media Specialist, assist with media briefings, and contribute to Mayoral engagement and outreach activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Enrolling in a tertiary qualification in communications, media, or a related field and having two years left in your course.
  • Managing social and digital media platforms with experience.
  • Creating engaging content for social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Producing video and photography content for various channels and styles.
  • Having a strong understanding of social and web analytics tools to inform decision-making.
  • Handling multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Working weeknights and weekends as required.
  • Holding a current Class C Driver's Licence.
