
Senior Orthotist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthotist Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide extensive specialist orthotic care to patients, working towards the achievement of the mission, philosophy and objectives of the Orthotics Department.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. They will also possess extensive postgraduate orthotic experience, advanced skills in all aspects of orthotic assessment and treatment, and evidence-based intervention/orthotic prescription.
This role offers an opportunity to work as a clinical consultant, providing expert knowledge in orthotic provision and functioning as a source of advice on clinical service delivery development, practice and redesign.
A level 4 senior clinician's expertise is such that they provide consultancy services in their speciality area across an area, geographic region or clinical network. They will have the ability to assist and provide guidance to service managers in the development of clinical services in response to demand and client needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services, identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, developing and leading ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
In addition to the above responsibilities, this role requires effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to use appropriate patient management systems. A willingness to support other clinical areas as required and demonstrated ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team as well as autonomously is also essential.
To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Applicants holding visas with working rights may be considered for temporary appointment where no suitable local applicant is identified.
