Job Description:

A leader is required to oversee the teaching and learning activities in a Catholic school. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of the values and ethos of the Catholic school and the mission of the Catholic Church.

The role involves fostering and developing appropriate professional relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider school community. This includes leading and working in teams, showing initiative, creativity, and thinking strategically.

The ideal candidate should have an extensive knowledge of MACS' Vision of Instruction and Engagement documents. They should also be able to gather, analyze, and use data to improve teacher pedagogy and student outcomes.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage teaching and learning programs
  • Foster professional relationships with students, staff, and the community
  • Work collaboratively in teams to achieve strategic goals
  • Develop and implement plans to improve teacher pedagogy and student outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Applicants must be Catholic, have experience in a leadership role within a Catholic Education setting, and hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

They should also have academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education (Master's degree or five-year equivalent) and relevant, substantial educational experience, including classroom teaching and leadership positions.

">Benefits:

This is a full-time ongoing teacher position at St Elizabeth's, with a three-year appointment as Deputy Principal/Teaching and Learning Leader and Religious Education Leader.

The position will commence Term 1, 2026, and applicants will need to commit to this timeframe.

Applicants are also required to demonstrate a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, have experience in formally appointed leadership roles, and be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school.
