Job Role: Dementia Support Specialist
">Job Description:A challenging opportunity to deliver the Dementia Support Australia Program, focusing on understanding dementia's impact and developing skills for carers and clinicians.
- Support families and staff in understanding how dementia affects individuals, providing guidance on prevention and response strategies.
- Equip caregivers and clinicians with modelling, coaching, and resource development skills to prevent and respond to behaviour changes.
- Develop contextualized reports to effect change and improve quality of life for people living with dementia.
- Conduct holistic assessments to understand individual experiences and care networks.
- Partner with the broader team to build capability across home and aged care sectors.
- Contribute to research projects and programs, working innovatively to meet changing sector needs.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience supporting people with dementia, with a person-centred approach to care.
- Understanding of dementia and its impact, with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals and their families.
- Effective communication skills to enable knowledge sharing and support change at all levels.
- High-level negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, or Mental Health is essential.
