Project Risk Specialist

This role is a critical component of our organization's risk management framework, responsible for predicting and mitigating risks that could impact the successful delivery of programs of work.

The ideal candidate will have experience in government acquisition projects and a solid understanding of risk management processes and methodologies. They will be skilled in technical, commercial, industry, and/or management experience gained within a Defence environment and possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

We are seeking an individual who can develop and maintain effective risk management strategies, identify and prioritize potential risks, and implement controls to mitigate their impact. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

In this role, you will be working closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to analyze and plan for potential risks and issues. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a risk and issues log, as well as drafting and reviewing project risk documentation and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Predicting and mitigating risks that could impact the successful delivery of programs of work
  • Developing and maintaining effective risk management strategies
  • Identifying and prioritizing potential risks
  • Implementing controls to mitigate the impact of potential risks
  • Working closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to analyze and plan for potential risks and issues
  • Maintaining a risk and issues log
  • Drafting and reviewing project risk documentation and reports
Requirements:
  • Risk management experience within government acquisition projects or program of projects
  • Familiarity with government risk management processes and methodologies
  • Technical, commercial, industry, and/or management experience gained within a Defence environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
