Database Professional Wanted

This is a mid-senior level position responsible for designing and implementing databases, schemas, stored procedures, and other database objects. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Oracle Database ranging from 10g through to 19c across UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and a minimum of 8 years of experience as a database administrator. They will be proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements, and have experience with Oracle Recovery Manager.

The role will involve working closely with other technical specialists and team members, and managing competing priorities in a complex environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.

  • Design and build databases, schemas, stored procedures, and other database objects
  • Set up routine database backup procedures and disaster recovery environments and procedures
  • Perform database recoveries
  • Assist developers and end-users with database usage, query development, and tuning
  • Develop operating system scripts to automate backups, data transfers, monitoring, etc
  • Support database connectivity from client applications
  • Design and implement database security
  • Provide direction to less senior DBA's. Assists associate and intermediate DBAs with complex database tasks

The role requires a strong analytical skillset and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions. Experience with administering or migrating databases on/to OCI, AWS, Azure, Exadata Cloud at Customer or on PaaS environments would be highly desirable.

  • Strong experience with Oracle Database ranging from 10g through to 19c across UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms
