About the Role


The Qantas Group is seeking a highly skilled Business Reporting Leader to join its team. As a key member of the finance function, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of external financial reporting and governance requirements for the Qantas Group.

Job Description

This role involves working closely with various business units to provide support on the application of accounting policies and standards. You will also be responsible for providing technical accounting advice on key transactions and ensuring their correct implementation.



Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a large team through the half-year and year-end process to deliver on all requirements.
  • Work closely with business units to provide support on the application of accounting policies and standards.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on key transactions and ensure their correct implementation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business units and stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of external financial reporting and governance requirements.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A degree in a business-related discipline and accreditation with CA/CPA or equivalent with over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to grasp complex issues and communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • A strong understanding of financial reporting standards and experience of delivering external reporting in a large ASX listed organisation.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality financial reporting.
  • A continuous improvement mindset.
  • The ability to lead, coach and motivate a large team.
  • A strong analytical mindset with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
