Corporate Governance is responsible for the effective management of corporate governance systems. Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will contribute to supervising the delivery of corporate governance functions and services through the development, review and monitoring of committee governance structure, systems, secretariate functions, and applicable policies and procedures to ensure best practice and improvement strategies meet organisational objectives.

Your key accountabilities include:

  • Assist in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of strategies designed to advance corporate governance within the department.
  • Oversee the governance framework to ensure accountability is maintained, and identify ongoing improvements to ensure contemporary governance practices and legislative requirements.
  • Develop, review and implement innovative initiatives and strategies for the improvement of work practices, processes and business outcomes.
  • Support team members through the provision of secretariate functions, as required to ensure consistency and strategic alignment.
  • Build a network of governance professionals across the portfolio and government to influence and improve the organisational governance and compliance culture.
  • Prepare, review and provide high-level reports, briefing notes, submissions and other correspondence to support the delivery of governance processes and legislative requirements.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote excellence in corporate governance.
  • Represent the organization at internal and external forums and meetings pertaining to corporate governance functions and services.
