Lead Community Outreach Team

As a Lead of the Community Outreach Team, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver a new outreach program in collaboration with the Service Manager. The program aims to support clients experiencing isolation, marginalised housing or homelessness, and/or mental health issues by connecting them with health services and social activities within local community areas.

The program requires direct engagement with community members through creative means that meet their needs. Key responsibilities include establishing, supporting, and supervising the outreach team, prioritizing service recipient needs, managing staff, and fostering a safe work culture. Additionally, promoting the program via community networks and monitoring performance against key outcomes are essential tasks.

Requirements
  • Proven experience empowering adults to improve health and wellbeing outcomes, particularly with diverse and disadvantaged communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
  • Experience in mental health or AOD is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of outreach work practices and risk assessment.
  • Experience in staff supervision and leading a diverse team.
