Key Role:

We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team on the Sunshine Coast. This specialist will play a critical role in delivering technical services, including repairs and maintenance, to ensure the safety and effectiveness of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment and systems.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • To provide guidance and support to students and less experienced practitioners, promoting continuous improvement in their skills and knowledge.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders/clients under the direction of more senior specialists.
  • Commitment to quality management through implementing and maintaining processes that ensure the highest standards of performance.
  • Honesty, integrity and respect for all staff, clients and other healthcare workers.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An Associate Diploma or Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A Restricted Electrical Work Licence is necessary, or the willingness and ability to obtain such within the first 6 months of employment.
  • A 'C' class driver's licence is essential, as you will be required to drive Queensland Health vehicles as part of general duties.
  • The ability to travel throughout Queensland for periods of up to approximately two weeks at a time, and participate in shift arrangements, on-call and weekend rosters, occasional overtime, and extended travel.
