Lead Diversity Initiatives

We are seeking an experienced Coordinator to lead the delivery of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.

This role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team, overseeing the implementation of strategic frameworks and action plans, and working collaboratively across the organisation and with external stakeholders.

The position plays a key role in shaping inclusive policies, supporting community engagement, and ensuring that organisational services are accessible and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.

  • Develop and implement Council-wide strategies and action plans that promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team and support the delivery of inclusive programs, events and community engagement initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice on DEI policy and practice, and influence inclusive service planning across the organisation.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and co-designed outcomes.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Proven experience leading teams and delivering diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, policies or programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills across community, government and internal teams.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Sound understanding of local government, social policy, and inclusive practice frameworks.
